DESCRIPTION
The UT C USR1101 is a high efficienc y synchronous b uck
PWM controll er, with o perating at fixed 300kHz freq uency,
Internal soft- start, frequen cy comp ensation net works and
integrates a ll of th e co ntrol, o utput ad justment, mo nitoring and
protection functions into a single package.
Adjustable over-current protection (OCP) monitors the vo ltage
drop acr oss th e R DS(ON) of th e lo wer MOSF ET for s ynchronous
buck PWM DC-DC controller.
FEATURES
* Operating with 5V or 12V supply voltage
* Drives all low cost N-channel MOSFETs
* PWM control mode
* 300kHz fixed frequency
* Internal soft-start
* Over-current fault monitor on MOSFET, no current sense
resistor required
* RoHS compliant and 100% lead (Pb)-free

APPLICATION INFORMATION
OCP
Sense the low-side MOSFET’s RDS(ON) to set over-current trip point.
Connecting a resistor (R OCSET) from this pin to the s ource of the upper MOSF ET and the dra in of t he l ower
MOSFET sets the over-curr ent trip po int. R OCSET, an int ernal 40μA cu rrent source, and th e lo wer MOSF ET on
resistance, RDS(ON), set the converter over-current trip point (IOCSET) according to the following equation:

Shutdown
Pulling low the OPS pin by a small single transistor can shutdown the UTC USR1101 PWM controller as shown in
typical application circuit.
